  • Why should I use Crawfords Mobile Computer Service?

    We have over 25 years of experience in the Canberra region and thousands of very happy customers. Our skills and experience are well regarded in the industry so much so that a number of the largest computer service companies in Australia use us to do contract work for them when they are unable to meet demand. We come to you so you dont have to waste time unplugging then lugging your computer half way across town. We give you 100% of our attention to get your issues sorted out immediately.

  • Are all repairs carried out at my premises or do you take the computer away and how long would I be without it for?

    About 80% of repairs are completed within the first hour on-site. For repairs where we have to run processes that could take several hours or require specialised tools, we take the computer back to our workshop so we can achieve the best possible outcome with the lowest cost to to you.   Some repairs are very complex and to do them on site would increase the risk of mistakes being made during the repair and we do not carry some of the more specialised diagnostic and repair tools with us.   Out ultimate goal is to get the best possible repair outcome at the lowest price.   Most offsite repairs are able to be completed within 24 hours however we do keep you informed about any problems or issues as they arise so you always know what is going on with your repair.

  • What are your charges?

    We charge $135 per hour for onsite jobs with a minimum of 1 hour then we charge to the minute (we do not round up to the nearest half hour).   For onsite jobs after hours after 8pm weekdays or any time on Saturday, Sunday or Public Holidays there is a one off surcharge of $49.    We charge $99 per hour for workshop jobs where you bring your equipment in to our Mitchell workshop with a minimum of 30 minutes.  The workshop is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm or by appointment.      We provide remote desktop support for help with any issues as long as you have a working internet connection and the cost of this is $120 per hour between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and $150 per hour on weekends or after 8pm weekdays and on public holidays but there is a minimum of just 20 minutes per job.

  • I have a business - will you charge me more to fix my problems than you charge to private customers?

    NO!.   We charge exactly the same rates to come and fix your business servers or networks and other IT equipment as we charge to home customers.

  • Do you provide pensioner or seniors discounts ?

    YES! If you have an ACT Seniors or Pension Card you will receive 15% off the labour cost of any service.    We do take into account any hardship you may be experiencing in affording to have your computer fixed.   Just talk to us and we will try to help you as much as we can.   The seniors discount is only available during normal weekday business hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

  • How are you able to charge so much less than your competitors?

    We price our services by working out the costs of providing the service and running the business and add a reasonable margin in order to make a living but no more. Our industry as a whole takes advantage of people who do not know how to fix their IT problems by charging very high rates to do this for them.

  • Do I have to get heaps of cash out of the bank to pay the bill?

    NO! If you dont have enough cash, all our technicians carry mobile EFTPOS machines and can accept payment by debit card (EFTPOS), Visa Card and MasterCard and we DO NOT charge a credit card surcharge to pay by card however we do not accept AMEX.

  • Do you give a guarantee?

    We certainly do. We stand by our work 100%. We provide a 12 month on-site parts and labour warranty on any new parts we supply. We give 30 days warranty on our workmanship which is more than enough because if we make a mistake with your repair it will be almost immediately obvious.   When it comes to virus removal, we guarantee that when we leave or return your computer to you it will be 100% free of all malicious malware, viruses, Trojans, spyware and adware however if you download anything after we have cleaned our your device and download more malware, while we are normally happy to help you remove it, we do not guarantee that you wont become re-infected with such software.   Any problems that  occur after our servicing, unless they are the result of something we have missed or not done properly, will not be covered by warranty.  Computers and IT devices are very complex and there are times when one fault can be obscured by another and that by fixing one problem, other less obvious issues my subsequently occur.  At any time following your service you can call us for follow up assistance and we can provide telephone or remote access support to help you and if it is related to something we missed, then this assistance may be covered by warranty from the service.

  • Can you come and fix my problem the same day I call?

    YES! In most cases we can come the same day to get you back up and running and we do not charge you any extra for this - the same rates apply as for pre-booked services.

  • Do you carry replacement parts if my computer needs them?

    YES! We carry a large range of replacement parts including power supplies, Wi-Fi adapters, video cards, RAM, keyboards & mice, routers, modems, cables, DVD drives, USB sticks, USB Hubs and more in our vehicles and we have a very large range of parts and accessories available in our Mitchell Showroom. We carry the parts needed to perform most onsite repairs. We can also order in parts for special requirements such as LCD monitors, gaming devices such as video cards, mice and keyboards. We also stock in our workshop all the parts to upgrade or build new computers including CPU's & motherboards.
